CAJUN SHRIMP SCAMPI

CAJUN SHRIMP SCAMPI

"Cajun Shrimp Scampi" is a classic Italian dish with a spicy twist. This savory meal is made with succulent shrimp, a creamy garlic sauce, and Cajun spices, resulting in a delicious and flavorful dish.

Ingredients:

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 tablespoons unsalted butter

3 cloves of garlic, minced

1/4 cup white wine

1/4 cup chicken broth

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

1/2 teaspoon dried basil

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/2 teaspoon Cajun seasoning

Salt and pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, for garnish

Instructions:

In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute.

Add the white wine, chicken broth, lemon juice, basil, oregano, Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper to the skillet.

Raise the heat to high and let the mixture come to a boil.

Add the shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes on each side.

Remove from heat and serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley.

This recipe is perfect for those who love a bit of heat in their meals, as the Cajun seasoning adds a spicy kick to the classic dish. Serve with pasta, rice, or a crusty baguette for an unforgettable dinner. Enjoy!

TOP TIPS

Allow the sauce to simmer for at least 10 minutes so it reduces by half and thickens.

Not a fan of shrimp? Use chicken, lobster, or scallops instead!

Taste the sauce and add more seasoning if needed.

Want it spicy? Add extra red crushed pepper, cayenne pepper, and green chilies.
